Designed with an emphasis on craftsmanship, developer Golden Age Group and architect Bates Smart envisions 85 Spring Street as a timeless building finely tuned to contemporary life.
The concept draws upon Rationalism, Modernism and the German philosophy of Gesamtkunstwerk to deliver a complete work of art across the external form, interiors and material palette.
Inspired by nearby civic masterpieces, Bates Smart’s concept to cast the residential tower in a raw material imparts a sense of permanence and integrity. In homage to the classical sensibility of the area, the textural facade references the stonework of Parliament House and the warmth of traditional Parisian limestone. Yet, free of decoration, the building is unmistakably contemporary.
